A Message from Tifa

I think it's precious how whenever Afiq gets an update from Tifa, whether it is a picture or video the first thing he'll always say to me is, "Can you please post this on your blog!!!". As for me, well, I'm always happy to spread the cuteness around. Check out Tifa saying hi to her Chupik. It's the sweetest!

Today is a good day!

Yesterday was my first day back at uni, and it was fantastica. I have a good feeling about my new lecturers and the modules I'm taking this year, so hopefully this will be a better semester than last! Also, because we’re split up in different groups this semester, we’ve now got something called ‘Leminars’ now that groups have gotten smaller. It’s just the funniest word, I had to mention it, LOL.

Besides the weather being so amazingly behaved, things have been going pretty smoothly lately.

  • * I bought myself a new pair of Sennheisers on Amazon, only to find a second pair sent for me the very next day… for free!!! I gave one to Afiq.

  • * Bargained some amazing exchange rates at the Bureau de Change today! Dolla dolla bill yaw…

  • * Picked up my two brand new pairs of glasses! Both FCUK and one of them was free free free! Gotta love SpecSavers. One is thick black framed, the other, tortoise shell.

What do you think?

This is going to be a pretty pointless post so don’t even bother reading the rest of it. My blog is just another outlet for bitching, whining and complaining - (the stuff people would rather not choose to sit and listen through) in order to de-stress myself from every annoying thing that’s been happening around me. I guess that’s one good thing about having a low-profile blog – I can say whatever I want, whenever I want.

Anyhoots. They finally posted up my [temporary] timetable today, which is going to be nothing but useless to me in 3 days since it only applies to this week’s classes. Apparently I had class yesterday which I didn’t know about. Bastards man, I swear down. And along with my first week sched, I received this rather quite annoying email:

Nabilah,

Apologies for any delay and confusion.

Unfortunately,International Financial Management was scheduled for yesterday (Monday) - but due to the fact that the timetable was not posted, you probably missed the session.

Annoying much? Like, no shizzle, Sherlock! I’ve got 1-5pm lectures tomorrow which is pretty disgusting (how do you survive sitting through two lectures without falling asleep?) but then again, I can’t complain much considering the fact that while everyone’s been going to uni like any normal student should, I’ve been bumming around like a jobless bum, and lemme tell you - even though I know I’ll be kicking myself in the ass for saying this in about a month or so - I’ve never experienced boredom to this extreme (hence the super lengthy post!). I’ve finished my Sex and the City box set, I’ve downloaded and watched all series of The City (notice the recurring theme here… I miss NYC – SNIFF!!!), and I’m halfway through the third sequel to Stephenie Meyer’s saga of vampire romance, titled Eclipse. Yeah I figured I’d jump right into book 3 since I was already feeling behind, not having read or watched Twilight and all, plus book 2, New Moon, wasn’t available at the store. Eclipse is a great read and it’s kept me well occupied! I’ve never seen the movie, but Edward oh Edward, what a beautiful mental illustration I have of you ;).

I’ve been trying to grab tickets to the Girls Aloud concert (I don’t care which city in the UK, just please, let there be availability somewhere!) but they’ve been selling like hot cakes and are sold out almost everywhere. And do not judge. They are great singers performers and going to a GA concert is on my British-things-to-do-before-I-leave-UK-for-good list that I will need to cross out.

On a much happier note, my birthday month is coming up! I already know what I want, but A pointed out that I have a whole month to go before I turn 22, so… here’s another pointless paragraph. I’ll just save my excitement for another day. Not that I’m looking forward to turning 22 or anything. Okay, chattin breeze. Doodoodoo.

I think I’m done complaining :D

Gong Xi Fa Cai everyone!!! Will be celebrating on 1st Feb at ChinaTown, so I'll be sure to post up pics then. No pics today, I’m se-se-se-sorreh ;)

xoxo,
E

Another New Blog

So here I am again, with yet, another blog. Sigh, the things you do when you suddenly go from being busy to having all the free time in the world, right? The last of my (horrible) exams ended on the 16th of Jan before we road tripped out of London to Birmingham the next day, which could not have been a better distraction from the traumatic state of shock I was in after my last paper on Friday. The weekend was everything I needed and more to get my mind and focus back on track to prepare myself for the upcoming semester which, (if everything goes as planned) should be my final push before I reach the end of my studies. Speaking of which, I don't have the foggiest clue when class starts for me. All I do is update Blackboard everyday, hoping those bastards have posted up my new schedule, but no new updates as of yet. So in the meantime, I’ll be here… chilling. :)

Birmingham was all kinds of fantastic. It was everything, from the change in environment to the lovely people we got to meet and hang out with which is, without trying to sound too bitter, more than I can say about London. Thank you M + all the housemates + housemate’s neighbors for taking such great care of us! We felt like spoilt tourists in a foreign country when in actual fact we were only 2+ hours away from home! ROTFL. I don’t think any of us were really ready to come back to London, but our fun weekend had to come to an end eventually. And so it did. Boohoo.

I am digging Windows Live Writer! ;)

Right, well now it’s time for me to sort out all the shizzle I didn’t have time to sort out during my exams, i.e. phone bills, laundry, bank card. They blocked my bloody card and I haven’t been able to withdraw any cash since I got back from New York. Yes, New York. That overdue.
